  Why dont U.S. JW's Celelbrate Thanksgiving

  i remeber the old young people ask book had an entry that explained why each holiday was bad.

  i was searching for it today on jw.org and it looks like the new young people ask has ommited that section.

  im just curiouse why jw's dont celebrate the holiday..

  today i was sat in a car full of jaydubs on the way home from the circuit assembly, and the discussion turned to halloween and how to avoid trick or treaters!.

  seriously, there was talk of pulling curtains shut across front doors and how disgusting it was that parents let their children knock on doors , and how annoying it is to get a knock on the door knowing it's an uninvited person!

  had to bite my tongue... .

  Just got back ourselves. Wife and I faded, so far unscathed. This is the second year we decorated for Halloween and this Christmas will be the second time decorating. Last Christmas 2 elders came to our door while the decorations were up. We haven’t heard a thing about it from them since. With your husband forcing their hand, there may be no way to escape their pursuit. As already mentioned… 2 witnesses or it didn’t happen…if your lucky.

  I now realize how much I missed out on as a little one. My kids had SO much fun.

  Kid charged over $500 to a game

  yesterday, i got our credit card statement, and looked at the charges.

  over $500 to itunes.

  questioned everyone, and it's for "jewels" for a kim kardashian game my 13 year old charged.

  My 5 year old did the same thing on an old apple device we didn’t use anymore. I didn’t know the cc info was on the device. It was charged only around $40.00. We contacted iTunes and told them our 5 year old didn’t have permission to make charges. They refunded us the money. We changed all of our device’s settings since then.

  Kennewick WA – Kennewick South Cong and Kennewick East. Born in 83-2002 We bounced from South to East once or twice in that time But I knew a lot of people in the Tri-Cities WA.

  Olympia WA Lacey Cong 2003-2004 I don’t remember the name of the Cong in Lacey/ Olympia.

  Mountain View Cong in Longmont CO 2004-2011ish

  Just Curious About Something

  sorry,couldn't think of a better title for this post,without it being long.. i was thinking this morning,if ex-jws, who were born into the group less likely to join another religion after leaving.

  vs. the witnesses who belonged to a church before joining the religion.. from my own prespective,being raised a witness,i have no intention of joining any religion.

  and it seems that born-ins are less likely to join a religion after leaving the cult.. in my own experience,i think it's religious burn-out to tell the truth.

  Wife and I were born in. She believes in a god / creator of some type. I do not. I doubt she will ever go to another church service. I have no need or desire to attend one.
